Summer Youth Dance Intensive moves online.
These sessions allow you to get fit, have fun, be creative, learn dance technique and to connect online. If you are aged 11-26 this is an exciting opportunity to learn something new or to develop your skills during lockdown.
The sessions run from Monday 3 August - Wednesday 5 August and are booked as a block. Booking closes at 5pm on Friday 31 July.
Each day will be as follows:
1000-1030 Ballet Barre
1045-1130 Contemporary technique class
1145-1245 Choreography and creative tasks.
All sessions will be led by choreographer and dancer Kathryn Spence. The choreography will explore the concept of ‘Invisible Dances’ by German choreographer Elisabeth Schilling. Participants will be guided through this concept by Kathryn, who will have input from Elisabeth. This may culminate in an outdoor site-specific performance at 2pm at the end of the sessions on Thursday 6 August. This will be confirmed nearer the time due to Government guidance - however please sure you are available for this if signing up.
Invisible Dances will explore the concept of using a score for movement.
All sessions will be on Zoom, which you can access through your internet browser or by downloading the app onto your device, please ensure we have a valid email address on your account in order to send the Zoom link. By signing up, you must provide guardian acceptance of Zoom use if participant is under 16 years of age.
