This event is a part of our dance season, running from 11 October – 6 November featuring a mixture of workshops and performances, for a range of ages and abilities.
A youth arts intensive like no other! Jim Manganello and Lucy Ireland, SHOTPUT company directors, will lead Shetland’s young people (12-18yrs) through a 4-day intensive, finalising in a performance.
Renowned dance theatre company, SHOTPUT, based in Glasgow, are travelling to Shetland to lead a 4-day intensive with young people. This will focus on dance, drama and film so if you have an interest in ANY or all of the above please come along to work with these specialists.
The intensive will finalise with the group performing a curtain raiser for the SHOTPUT performance on Saturday night on Mareel's main stage. Due to this, the participants will be needed 2pm -5pm on the Saturday for technical rehearsal and again at 7pm for the performance. Every other day is 10am -4pm with a break for lunch.
Participants are asked to bring their own lunch and snacks or to use the café and snack bar at Mareel.
