This is an online Creative Lab for adults (16+) hosted through Zoom with local artist Peter Davis. It is booked as a block of four sessions on a Thursday evening, bookings close 2 and a half hours before the start of the first session.

9 July

16 July

23 July

30 July

Peter Davis will talk you through watercolour lessons from his kitchen table. Each session will be approximately 30 minutes (condensed for Zoom purposes), and will set tasks for participants to do in the week ahead. Peter will share different techniques and approaches for using watercolours to represent the Shetland landscape in these Summer months. Take your paints outside with you, and get inspired with weekly tutorials from the master of watercolours.

The first three sessions will be tutorial style, with opportunity to ask questions. The final session will be a social and share event where discussion of approaches will be encouraged.

Below are some reasonable, economic watercolour paints if you want/need to buy your own. Peter recommends buying individual colours, which can limit you and your painting in an exciting way! It also allows you to buy colours appropriate for the Shetland landscape of which we will be painting.

Sessions will be delivered on Zoom which you can access from your browser on your phone, tablet or PC or by downloading the free app. Bookings are limited to one per customer but as a zoom session other members of the household are free to watch.

There will be a Shetland Arts moderator in at least the first session.
