As part of the Shetland Nature Festival, RSPB present One Small Bird, a musical journey from Shetland to Peru following the migratory route of Shetland’s red-necked phalaropes. This performance is the culmination of a week of immersive workshops in which participants have explored the bird’s miraculous story through song, movement, poetry and puppet making.
The performance of the song cycle will weave together sections of dance and poems created by the participants with the 7 songs in the piece.
The performance will bring together local schools/music ensembles/adult choirs that have been learning the material over the summer term as well as participants of the holiday project.
