Wordplay presents Shetland Noir

Next summer, Wordplay will return to Mareel with a very special festival for 2023. Shetland Noir will run over 4 days in June, with a programme packed full of internationally known writer events, workshops, panel discussions and outings. We will explore bringing in other elements to the programme, broadening from a literature base to include film, music, live performance, as well as other "noir" related content.

We are delighted to announce award-winning crime-writer and creator of the world-famous Jimmy Perez Shetland novels Ann Cleeves OBE as Patron of Shetland Noir 2023. Ann will be supported in her role by Shetland’s own Marsali Taylor.

“I'm delighted to be involved with Shetland Noir. I can't wait to bring crime readers and writers together in these beautiful islands to celebrate all things noir.” (Ann Cleeves).

Early Bird Noir Card available on sale now, with full price Noir Cards (£85) and tickets for individual events going on sale from January 1 2023.
