In 1800s England, formerly acclaimed fossil hunter Mary Anning struggles to make a living selling fossils to tourists. When a wealthy visitor entrusts Mary with the care of his convalescing wife Charlotte, she cannot afford to turn his offer down. Mary initially clashes with her unwelcome guest, but soon an intense bond begins to develop.
