Written and directed by Gary Oldman and featuring career-best performances from Ray Winstone and Kathy Burke, Nil By Mouth remains a work of ferocious power with an unflinching authenticity rarely seen in British cinema.

In a working-class London neighbourhood, a highly dysfunctional family struggles to survive. The widowed Janet lives with her elderly mother, son Billy, daughter Valerie and Valerie's abusive, alcoholic husband, Ray. Together they attempt to work out their differences, but drugs, booze and violence get in the way.
