Shetland-born musicians Neil Georgeson and Sophie Rocks get together for the first time for a concert of piano and harp music at Mareel. Their programme “Mirrie Dancers” features pieces inspired by the night sky and by dance music, including some folk music arrangements. They will mark Claude Debussy's centenary with his Danse sacree et danse profane, set against more contemporary works like the Suite Galactique by French-Canadian composer Caroline Lizotte and Johannes Kreidler's Study for piano, video and playback. The concert will also feature iconic classics by Chopin, Ravel and Liszt.
